Dining Room Staging Channel
Dining rooms used to be a sign of wealth, as ordinary folks ate in their kitchens. While this may me more fun and convenient on a day to day basis, when doing home staging, you should show off every asset that your home has to offer. Your dining room should welcome guests to a romantic atmosphere that takes them away from their regular, everyday lives. Think of all those wonderful pictures in home magazines and keep them in mind as you work to transform your dining room.
Open up the room as much as possible by removing excess furniture such as unneeded chairs, etc. You should be left with your dining room table, 4-6 chairs and a china cabinet and/or one buffet table.
Polish your table and make it sparkle! Add a rug that is large enough to keep all the chairs on it when dining.
To give some excitement to the room, hang a piece of art or two. Remember, you're trying to keep it as de-personalized as possible, so the more generic the better. These can still be bold and stunning, just don't hang family portraits and you'll be fine. And, as with any room, add some greenery to let the room breathe.
